Mish Mash Challenge - Triangle

I'm not even sure what these nails remind me of. For some reason I think of really bright galaxy nails with not much detail, does that even make sense? Oddly enough the background of my nails was inspired by the krang ship on the newer version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle TV show, which my brothers are absolutely obsessed with. I've wanted to incorporate a piece of the ship into a nail design for some time now and since I was stumped with what to put as my background for my white triangles, it worked out perfectly! I really like the way these turned out although my friends think the design is completely random, which I would have to agree with but they shouldn't expect much more from me.

Pink Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Razz-berry
Purple Wet n Wild Fastdry - Buffy the Violent Slayer
White L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - White
Black L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - Black

The way I achieved my "simple galaxy" background was using the saran wrap method with the pink polish as my base then added the purple as my second color.

Mish Mash Challenge - Blue

BLUE is such a pretty color and probably one of the most well liked. I know I could have went in about 1000 different directions with this, which may have been a lot more creative but I'm pinched for time here. I went with a mosaic print since it's something I've wanted to try for awhile now. I'm wondering if I should of went with different colors but either way I like the way these came out. If I had some more time I would have cleaned up the edges a bit more but I'll make sure to do that next time.

Mish Mash Challenge - Cold

Two things came to mind when I thought of cold, snow and ice. After some deliberation on the types of designs I could do, I decided on cracked ice, which sounds really awesome but I really just used my crackle polish that I've been wanting to use again. When I first started with nail art I would use these polishes since they had such an amazing look with minimal effort. I rediscovered the "crackles" a couple weeks ago when reorganizing my nail polishes and vowed to try and find some more uses for them.

Blue Wet n Wild Fastdry - Saved by the Blue
White Sephora by OPI - White Blasted

I didn't add a top coat to this manicure since I like the texture that it gave my nails and seems to me like a mild 3D effect, which I really enjoy. It's so simple yet I got so many compliments on them and I do enjoy simplicity every now and then, its a nice break from all the craziness I attempt to put on my little nails. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

Until next time, PEACE!

Pusheen Movember

I wanted to think of a really creative Movember design and for some reason the first thing that popped into my head was pusheen cat with a mustache, don't judge me! It may have to do with the face that I have been absolutely cat obsessed for the past couple of months. The whole point of movember is to raise awareness on health issues by the growing of mustaches and since I can't grow facial hair I decided to do my part through my nails.

Mish Mash Challenge - Least Expensive Nail Polish

I have some nail polishes that are a dollar usually and some that I got for a dollar because they were on clearance. I spent more time then I probably should deciding which I would choose to use but I ended up deciding on the polish that was my favorite. I went to a Rite-Aid sometime during the end of summer and found so many nice nail polishes on sale including this Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Polish called Lick-O-Rich. I was ecstatic but unfortunately the reason they had so many things on clearance was because they were closing down and I was unable to make it for a second trip. The good news is I got a lot of discounted polish and that's always fun.

They had black on clearance for a $1 and usually retails for $5.49. This isn't necessarily the polish that was the biggest price difference but its the one I fell in love with and was so happy I got my hands on it, especially for a cheap price. I used two coats to reach this level of opacity and you can definitely feel its texture which is not as strong in other polishes. I found myself passing my nails across my face because I just loved the feeling and I will admit that that is incredibly weird but I just don't care! I was a bit worried that I'd make a mess with all the little grains in the bottle but was so happy when I found that it is as easy as applying any other polish. Definitely a great polish and gets Yeliza's stamp of approval.

Blood Splatter

It's HALLOWEEN and naturally I had to go with blood splatter because what's Halloween without it? Also it so happened to go with my costume quite nicely since I was a nurse. In school I was a regular run of the mill nurse but I ended up going to the Halloween parade with my coworkers and just threw on some jeans, opened up my nurse dress/jacket and became an off duty nurse haha. Either way the nails worked and although I had some criticisms from a guy friend of mine who loves making fun of my nails, I think they didn't come out to shabby.

Slime

I'm always in the Halloween spirit but my nails sure haven't been. I had so many ideas for Halloween nails but no time to execute them. I've been trying to keep up with the Mish Mash Challenge but unfortunately have not had the time to edit pictures and write posts yet. Since this is the day before Halloween I'm sure I'll only have two Halloween nail posts, which makes me feel terrible since I look forward to this time of year! :( Anyway, I'll try to make up for it with some fantabulous nails for the mish mash challenge

Green Sally Hansen - Perfect Pear-ing
Black Wet n Wild Wild Shine - Black Creme

I went with slime nails since I got a wonderful green polish not that long ago and thought, why not? I originally planned on making the slime green with a black background but thought if I did it the opposite it would stand out more. I'm thinking I made the right choice haha.

I'm So Behind!

I have been slacking in the blogging department for almost two months now, which is just terrible! I actually have been overwhelmed with school, getting ready to apply for colleges, work, and other such things that I put blogging on the back burner. I have kept up with some of the manicures for the Mish Mash Challenge and plan on dedicating a day to finish the ones I've missed and blog them all so that I can continue on without a hitch. I think I have come up with a schedule so that I can be on top of all the things without wanting to pull my hair out so I'll be trying that. Just writing this post makes me feel better just because it has been killing me that I've been in the dark without even checking in! It is not fun not keeping up with some of my favorite bloggers.

Wet n Wild Tropicalia Swatch

I've been swatching some polishes lately although my broken nail on my pointer finger has been driving me insane, I've decided to ignore it. This is the Wet n Wild Megalast Tropicalia and this is part of their main line. I love this color and it is an absolutely gorgeous that's perfect for summer. I have been trying to hang on to the summer days for as long as I can because once fall rolls around I love to wear darker and more neutral colors and rarely do I wear bright preppy colors but I do have my moods where I decide to go bright and cheery.

I used two coats to reach opacity with no topcoat. I have run out of my Seche Vite and my Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat so I haven't been adding top coat to my nails. I will go on the hunt soon but I'm not sure which to get.

This is a pinky coral creme that I've had hidden in my shelf for about three or so months now and only wore it once on my toes, I loved it then and I am so happy it has finally made it's way up to my fingernails.

It really stands out when the sun hits it but can be a bit more reddish with lower lighting, either way it looks great.

I also found that this was really easy to apply but I have mentioned before that the wide brush that this nail polish comes with has proven to be a hit or miss for me. It can be really great in some instances but a mess other times, it really depends on how careful I am when applying.

Mish Mash Challenge - Hot

What exactly does hot mean? I'm not to sure. At first I thought the idea was to represent something that is hot on your nails like a fire or something of that nature but then I thought of hot as a new trend that has gained a lot of traction. I wasn't sure which interpretation to go with so I made the easy choice and decided on both!

Orange Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Sunkissed
Red Orange Essie - Come Here
White Wet n Wild

Halfmoon, Watercolor, "Chevron," Leopard, and Stripes are some of the hottest trends I could think of. I wanted each nail to have the same three colors that represented heat in my eyes. When I think of hot I think of fire and the first colors to come to min are red, orange and yellow. I decided to knock yellow out of the equation and added white.

My middle finger isn't actually chevron since my craft scissors were giving some issues, I went with scalloped instead. I actually really like each nail and two out of the five are something I've never tried before so I really enjoyed trying something new. I do have a favoreite though and that's the leopard print,I just think it really stands out and looks really nice, one of the best leopard prints I've done.

Mish Mash Challenge - Music

Last week's challenge was music and I think that it can be interpreted in many ways. Anything that has to deal with music goes and that means there are going to be some designs that are truly unique. I decided to base my manicure on one song/artist. I was planning on doing it based on IM5's song called Superman but after 2 failed attempts I decided to just change the song I was planning on using. I decided on It's A Beautiful Day by Michael Buble.

Thumb - Canadian Flag
Pointer - CD
Middle - Tuxedo
Ring - Beautiful Day
Pinky - "This fire inside, it burns too bright"

I just wanted to explain each nail although it's probably self explanatory. Michael Buble is Canadian, I also want to apologize for my flag, I'm going to need to practice that haha. Since he has sold so many records I thought I'd put a CD on my pointer. I also added a tuxedo since most of the performances I have watched he was wearing a tux or suit. Unfortunately when I added my topcoat the bow tie and buttons smeared a bit. I also did a cartoon version of a beautiful day for the title of the song and last but not least, my pinky is representing a line in the song, "This fire inside, it burns too bright."

I'm so happy that I got this done! It's been bothering me since it's not late because I haven't had a chance to complete it but because I couldn't execute the design I had planned. The good news is that I can make sure that all my other manicures are on time.

It's Always Greener On The Other Side

After my failed attempts at trying to do my music manicure for the Mish Mash Challenge I decided to just do something that wouldn't fail me, a tape manicure. I actually wasn't sure what I was going to do after I painted my base but while I was watching Big Brother I saw that one of the players, Spencer, was wearing a sweater the same color of my nails and a shirt the color of one of my polishes. I decided to use them together and since only a triangle worth of his shirt was showing I thought of taking it literal and doing a tri-accent but I've already done that, I wanted something a bit different and this happened.

Green Avon Speed Dry- Turquoise Pop
Green Yellow Avon Speed Dry- Inspire

I'm actually really bad at getting things to be the same size just by looking at it so to make sure that it was all even I used reinforcement labels and put them on my nails as if I was going to do a halfmoon manicure. Afterward, I cut a piece of tape and put it right above the highest part of the reinforcement sticker and viola!

My Inspiration:

I promise I'll get my music manicure up sometime soon and I hope that it will be the last time that I put up a post late. Since I haven't been so great about keeping up with the last two challenges I have been trying to swatch some of my polishes so that I can post them while I wait for the next theme of the challenge so please don't hate me!

Nominated for a Leibster Award

Leibster Award? Wah?

I have been nominated for a Leibster Award by the amazing Natalie from Over The Topcoat. I won't lie, I had no idea what this award was before Natalie told me she nominated me. I went to her blog to do a bit more digging and found that this is an award for bloggers to nominate each other to help discover more blogs.  Leibster is actually a German word that means "beloved, dearest, favorite, and liked."I'm so thrilled to be nominated and being able to nominate other fabulous bloggers.

Rules:
  1. You must link back to the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you by the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.
  4. Go to the blogs you nominated and notify them of your nomination.
  5. Give your nominees 11 questions to answer.
My Questions from Natalie:
  1. What kind of superpower would you most like to have?
This is probably the answer everyone would have but I'd have to say I would like to read people's minds. I always find myself wanting to know exactly what someone is thinking. As odd as it sounds, I often stare at people wondering what is going on in their head. I promise I don't do it on purpose, it kind of just happens.
    .
  2. Where is your favorite place in the whole world? (It does not have to be somewhere you've actually been).
I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be a difficult question but it is! I believe that any place can be amazing as long as you have the right people with you. If I'm happy and enjoying myself than I don't care where I am.

  3. Do you have pets? Please include type of pet and their name(s).
Unfortunately, I don't have any pets. I've been trying to get my mom to get a dog for about 12 years now and just recently have been trying to get her to get a cat. I have a better chance of convincing her to get a dog since she hates cats but she said she doesn't need something else to care after. One day I shall have one!

  4. Why did you decide to start blogging?
The reason I got really interested in nail art is because of other bloggers and after I had been painting my nails for awhile I wanted to try and help inspire others. I also found it a great way to document my progress and it's something I am very passionate about.

  5. If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
The first thing I would love to do is use that money to help my mom get the dream house she has been wanting for what seems like forever. She's the most important person in my life and I would really enjoy trying to repay her for everything she's done for me. As for what I'd do after, I have no idea, I would need to really think to make sure I don't just blow it on unnecessary things that just seem important at the time.
    .
  6. What's your favorite day of the week?
I would have to say Tuesday. There is no particular reason for this, I just happen to really enjoy Tuesdays. I generally feel happy and relaxed. It may have to do with the fact that for the past 3 years of my high school career Tuesday has been one of my least hectic days of the week haha.
    .
  7. Do you "geek out" over anything? (i.e. TV show, favorite band, comic books, etc.)
Omg! I geek out over sooooo many things! I'll just quickly name a few: Teen Wolf, horror movies, bands (boy bands in particular), superheroes, Psych, nail polish, many male celebrities (my favorite is Dylan O'Brien), and Spongebob. There are at least 25 more things I can add to this list but I'll just stop here.
    .
  8. Do you like to cook/bake?
I'm actually a VERY picky eater. If I go to a restaurant I'll probably just order french fries or white rice, which makes me a cheap date but also a pain to go out with. That being said, I'm not a big fan of cooking or baking but I'd gladly try out a dessert that someone has baked haha.

  9. Do you think there's life on other planets?
I definitely think it's possible. With a universe that houses about 1024 planets I find it hard to believe that there isn't life on other planets.

  10. Are you a fan of practical jokes or pranks?
As long as no one gets hurt I am a huge fan of practical jokes and pranks. I honestly laugh at everything and things like that will have me on the floor laughing for about 5 minutes.

  11. What's something that few people might know about you?
I'm basically an open book but something people may not know is that I love re-watching movies and shows. I have seen Halloween H20: 20 Years Later at least 200 times and I'm not exaggerating. I've also seen every Teen Wolf episode at least three times and by the time the new season starts I will probably be at 6 times...
I Nominatee:
  1. Sarah from Lethal Lacquer
  2. Stef from Fairly Charming
  3. Marry from Marry's Raveland
  4. Jenny from Lavish Layerings
  5. Patrycja from Drenched in Lacquer
  6. Chantelle from A Polished Prance
  7. Roxy from Beautylicious
  8. June from From Glitter to Creme
  9. Tyeisha from Lacquer Nerd
  10. Danielle from Totally Nailed
  11. Marie from Nefariously Nifty Nails
If you don't know these ladies be sure to check them out because they're all amazing!

My Questions:
  1. What made you decide to start blogging?
  2. Who is the number one supporter for your blog?
  3. What kind of animal would you be?
  4. Do you have any hidden/special talents?
  5. What is the first thing you notice about a person?
  6. If you could go back in time and change one thing what would it be?
  7. What's your favorite season of the year?
  8. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
  9. What's the best way into your heart?
  10. If you could spend a day with any celebrity who would it be?
  11. Do you have any guilty pleasures?
If any of my nominee's decide to accept my nomination be sure to send me the link to your post so I can see your responses!

Happy Birthday Dylan O' Brien!

People who know me personally know that I have many male celebrity crushes and for the past two years or so there is one that has been number one on my list. Dylan O'Brien is my imaginary boyfriend and that may sound incredibly creepy but you've all had one at some point or still do, who knows?  Haha. Today is Dylan's 22nd birthday and because I wasn't sure how else to express my birthday wishes to him I decided to put it on my nails! I can't get over how odd this is but I can honestly say that I don't mind the amount of people who will find me weird because I'm just trying to spread some love, ya know?

I wish he would just stop getting older and wait for me to catch up a bit, a four year difference isn't bad right? Although I should probably meet him first...Oh jeez I really want to meet him! I can talk about him for hours to anyone who listens, including my mom but she usually just tunes me out. I just want everyone to know that I love this guy, maybe someone who knows him personally will hear me and make it happen. You never know! I will continue on with my wishful thinking since it makes me feel better about the fact that it will probably never happen but let's just pretend.

Please excuse my fangirling! I just couldn't help myself.

Watermelon Ikat

Apparently I didn't have enough of Ikat Wednesday. I really wanted to keep the ones I had on but I also wanted to change up the colors and try the technique again so I present to you *drum roll please*....my WATERMELON Ikat! I was thinking of a color combo during my lunch break Tuesday and saw that one of my co-workers had on a lime green shirt while my other co-worker, sitting beside her, had a dusty red colored shirt. I instantly thought of a watermelon and figured it would look nice on the nails.

Green Sinful Colors - Innocent
Red Sinful Colors - Timbleberry
Black L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - Black
White L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - White
Unfortunately this green looks horrendous with my skin tone but I still think it's an absolutely gorgeous color.

The person wearing the dusty red shirt also happens to occasionally eat a watermelon for lunch so this is for you Chris!

Mish Mash Challenge - Nail Art Technique You've Never Tried Before

I find this weeks challenge really exciting. I've been saying that about each Mish Mash post actually but that's beside the point. I usually tell myself that I will try something new but end up doing something I'm comfortable with like half moons. I've never tried Ikat before and it seemed really interesting. This was the perfect opportunity to try this manicure and while it isn't the greatest attempt, I am really proud of how these came out! I'm pretty sure I might even end up trying this again with a different color combination once I take these off.

Periwinkle Blue Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Coral Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Coral Reef
White L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - White
Black L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - Black

I'm actually surprised at just how fun this looks on the nail. I may even wear it for more than a day and that's saying something. My topcoat did smudge the design a bit but nothing to major thankfully.

Mish Mash Challenge - Metallic

Jeez, I'm so late for this part of the challenge, last week was just a bit hectic. I wanted to go a bit crazy for metallic, possibly do something extremely over the top but unfortunately I came up with nothing. I'm keeping it simple today with my gold mani and mint tips. Believe it or not I've never tried anything like this before. With something this simple you'd might thing it's been done a thousand times but in my case that hasn't happened.

Gold Orly - Luxe
Mint Pop Beauty - Mint Magic

Um, can I just say I love this color combination? Just look at it! How cute is that? Maybe I'm over excited but I don't care! Sometimes something simple is all you need.

Mish Mash Challenge - Taping

I am still very much excited to be joining in on this challenge. After a week you would think it's worn off a bit but nope! Anyway, today's theme for the Mish Mash Challenge is Taping. I really like tape manicures, the only problem is mine are nowhere near perfect, I know it's a lot to expect to get a perfect tape mani but is it really to much to ask to get it so that it doesn't look like a mess? Haha. I had gotten craft scissors as a christmas gift a looooong time ago and never really had a reason to use them. I thought it would be the perfect time to whip them out but I have absolutely no idea where they are! So I decided to stick my regular scissors and do some random lines instead.

White Wet n Wild Wild Shine - French White Creme
Dark Grey Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Oxide
Red L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer - Red

I wasn't planning on adding the red but the white was the base for my chevron and when that didn't work out I decided to keep it simple and add a dark color for contrast. It just seemed too boring so I had to add a pop of color.

This is without the red.

Sunflowers

I was unsure of what I wanted to put on my nails, all I knew was I wanted to paint my nails. Thanks to a co-worker of mine who suggested I do flowers and another co-worker for lending me a polish she had just bought. I thought it would be a good idea to redeem myself from the disaster that was my first floral mani. My sunflower-esque nails didn't come out too shabby if I do say so myself. I do apologize for the photo, I completely forgot to take a better one.

Red Orange Essie - Come Here
Yellow Sinful Colors - Unicorn
Mint Pop Beauty - Mint Magic

My base color just so happens to match one of my many tank tops. Since it isn't mine I've been debating getting it. After I got a few compliments on the color I think I might be getting it for myself but we'll see.

Vote For Rosie Mendez!

This may seem like an odd blog post and I can't argue with that because it definitely is. What does a 17 year old girl have to do with the City Council for New York? Well I just so happen to know Rosie Mendez and since she is running again for Councilwoman of District 2, I thought that I would show my support for her reelection. If you don't live in New York you probably have no idea what I'm talking about but basically Rosie is a representative for part of NY and works hard, along with her staff, to resolve the problems that the constituents, who live in her District, are having.

I actually got to show Rosie and her staff my nails and they all loved it. Definitely made my day to know that they enjoyed it so much and Rosie actually put up a picture on her twitter!

VOTE FOR ROSIE MENDEZ :D

Mish Mash Challenge - Purple

This is the first challenge I am joining in on and I'm really excited! The ladies who put this lovely challenge together are absolutely amazing! I think its rather managable, one post every week so it seems like the right first challenge to participate in. I actually found out about this challenge yesterday so I quickly whipped something up.

The theme for July 31st is PURPLE. Like I said I found out about this challenge yesterday so I kept it simple and wanted to do something easy. What's easier than stripes? The manicure below is using 6 different shades of purple that I had hidden in my nail polish arsenal.

*Middle Finger - Left to Right*
Matteselite - Fucci-licious
Sinful Colors - Sweet Tooth
Essie - Lilacism
Jordana - Purple Punch
Revlon - Bold Sangria
OPI - You're Such A Budapest

I put a matte top coat just so the stripes can be seen a little easier in the photographs. The matte top coat I used for the pictures below is Warpaint Beauty - Mattify from Hot Topic:

Sorry for the bombardment of pictures, it's just so easy to get good pictures when it's matte!

Neon Stripes

This is a manicure I had on about a week or two ago, is it back I can't remember? I'm not quite sure how I feel about these, I was thinking of having a really soft looking manicure so I painted my nails with Essie Like Linen then decided I wanted something bright. I decided that I wanted to do stripes and just chose some fun colors. I would have done it over my entire nail but I didn't want to take off my nail polish so I ended up with this:

Blue Pop Beauty - Mint Magic
Green Klean Color - TLC
White Wet n' Wild - French White
Pink Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Coral Reef
Orange Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Sunkissed
Black Wet n' Wild - Black Creme
Off White Essie - Like Linen
Black with Glitter Forever 21 - Charcol

Since I did these at night and my lighting isn't the best it could be I didn't really see the true color of my nail polish. My base looked brighter and whiter than it really was. I enjoyed how it looked when I was in my room at night but during the day it didn't really have the same effect on me. I wouldn't say I hate them but it definitely isn't one of the favorite manicures I've done.

Nail Nubs!

This past weekend I've been thinking of cutting my nails since they were getting too long for my liking. I was considering trying round nails for a change to see if it would give me the change I was looking for. After trying to round my nails evenly I got frustrated and cut them back down to squares. Unfortunately I cut them too short on my left hand. The nails on my right hand are a bit longer, the only problem is I do nail art on my left hand. I usually do a solid color or a simpler version of my designs on my right hand. I really don't like the length of my left hand right now so I'm holding back on trying any nail art for a bit but for the sake of this blog and my need to do my nails all the time I'm going to attempt some nail art on my right hand. I may end up just swatching a lot of my polishes but we'll see what happens.

This is the current length of my right hand, this is what I tried to get on my left hand but unfortunately went a bit too crazy with the nail clippers and nail file, oops!

NK Amarillo Swatch

I'm continuing on with my summer manicures and I'm really excited about this color. To everyone else it's probably not that exciting and just an ordinary yellow but that's not the case! Well kind of...the reason I'm so happy is because yellow NEVER looks good on me! I'm too pale to pull it off, it makes me look sick. Thanks to the summer sun for giving me some color because it finally looks nice on me, it's bright and vibrant, the way its supposed to look. I bought this a pretty long time ago and I usually don't see the NK brand in drugstores but I do see them in about every beauty suppy I go to, I believe they're a dollar but don't quote me on that!

This is two coats and since I am a bit more than halfway through the bottle and it's more than a year old, application wasn't the greatest but it was still really workable. It is a typical canary yellow color, bright, playful and perfect for the season.

No matter the lighting, the color always stands out, this is my go to yellow for my nail art, since I'm running a bit low I think I'll be testing out my other yellows to see how they compare to this one.

Revlon Plum Seduction Swatch

Last weekend my best friend had a party for her 17th birthday. I had to be there 2 hours early to help her out and do her nails. Because I'm the worst with getting ready early I ended up going over there with bare nails! I only brought nude colors for her cheetah print nails and I wanted something loud. I looked through her collection and found this beautiful revlon gem called plum seduction, and let me just say, it's absolutely beautiful!

This is two coats and is the picture most true to color. I wouldn't say this is necessarily a plum color, I think it leans more to a pink fuchsia. The formula is pretty thin, which makes it really easy to work with.

In some lights it's a bit darker, like the picture above, but it's still looks bright on the nail. Like I said earlier, I used two coats, the first coat is sheer but once you add the second coat it becomes fully opaque and the brightness of the color really comes through. I was thinking of adding a third but decided against it, thankfully two was enough for this manicure.

I'm still debating getting this for myself, I really like the color but can't justify getting it for myself when I can just borrow it from my friend. Hmm, what to do...

Faith's Tattoo {Mirror's Edge} + Inspiration

I was really in the mood to paint my nails late last night but couldn't think of a design I wanted to do. Thankfully someone tried to help me out and sent me a picture of a tattoo from a video game called mirror's edge, isn't it awesome? I ended up falling asleep after I applied my base color since I waited what seems like forever for it to dry. This morning I added the detail and while it doesn't really look like my inspiration I think it still looks pretty cool. I want to attempt the same type of design but with a different base color, hopefully it happens!

I wondered what this manicure would look like with a matte finish so I added my NYC matte me crazy topcoat and it looks great. I'm not sure which one I like more, my base is pretty shimmery so even though it's matte it still looks kind of glossy. The main difference I noted was that the matte nails were 1000 times easier to photograph since there is no glare.

And a picture of my inspiration:
