Metallic Half Moon Manicure

I admit this isn't my best half moon manicure but I really love the color combination. I had just bought Essie Bahama Mama and thought how perfect it would look with gold, after debating with myself for a bit I thought I should do half moons since I haven't done them in awhile. I'm going to do another one soon enough so I can hopefully get the same sized half moons and with more vibrant colors!

Gold H&M - 70s Boho
Gold Fine Glitter Wet n Wild - Gold & the Beautiful
Deep Plum Essie - Bahama Mama

I know there is another technique for doing half moons but I just use reinforcers labels to get the job done. If you haven't done this manicure before I have a tip for you. Make sure your base color is dry before you put the reinforcement because if it isn't when you take it off the nail polish will just come right off! And another thing after you put the second color on, in my case Bahama Mama, take off the reinforcements right away pulling away from the edge of the curve at an angle to get the cleanest line. Once you finished all your nails wait until they dry and add top coat to seal your design and your nail art is done!

(please excuse the dry cuticles!)

Blue Stripes

This is from late January. I wanted something simple but still nice enough to get people interested in them. I freehanded the stripes with the regular nail polish brush and just straightened them up a bit with black nail art striper.

Light Blue Forever 21 - Sky Blue
Gray Brucci - Alexandra's "Hot" Gray
Dark Blue Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue

Easter Nail Art

There is no way I could go this Easter without a manicure to match. I thought of the things that most people think of when it comes to Easter. The decorated eggs, chicks, and of course bunnies. On my pinky I did a chick in a half hatched egg, my ring and pointer finger are decorated easter eggs, and my middle finger is a bunny.

Yellow Sinful Colors - Unicorn
Baby Blue Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Breezy Blue
Purple Mattegeelite - Pucci-licious
Light Pink Avon Speed Dry - On the Go
Hot Pink Essie Fiesta
Coral Essie - Tart Deco
Green Prevail - Rooftop Bar
White NYC Expert Last - White mania
Black Wet n Wild Fast Dry - Ebony Hates Chris
Orange Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear -Sun-Kissed

I named the bunny LeeLee after the rabbit I had when I was younger, I thought this was a nice little tribute to her.

And So It Begins...

Hi all! My name is Yeliza and I really love painting my nails. I’ve been doing nail art for almost a year now; I took about a four month break in between so I’d say it’s actually just about six months or so.  I love sharing what I’ve done even though I’m not even close to the best but maybe there are some people who like my designs, it’s all I’m really hoping for.

I have a few manicures that I did before, which I’ll probably be posting just so I can get them all up and start the process of regularly posting whatever I have on my nails at the moment.

I know that not many people will understand the name I chose this blog name so I thought I’d explain it on my very first post. I couldn’t think of a name and was trying to find anything that will give me inspiration as to what I should name it. I asked my friend Angeliesse and she tried to help me out, she gave me a few names but I already thought of Beacon Nails and asked her what she thought of it. She liked it and I was happy since it ties in my TV show obsession, Teen Wolf. I was watching old episodes while I thought of the nail blog and heard someone say Beacon Hills, the town where they live and BAM! I wanted Beacon Nails to be my blog name. If you want to think of Beacon Nails as a light used to guide that’s perfectly fine! Double meanings work nicely in this case I think.
